Unilever named most successful brand among FT500

Unilever has been named as the most successful brand among the FT 500 for meeting its philanthropic goals, according to a recent study by Radley Yeldar. Unilever’s sustainability strategy was found to have made the biggest impact of all the companies listed in the FT 500 and the FTSE Eurofirst 100, having achieved the goals set out in its ‘making sustainable life commonplace’ mission statement. Radley Yeldar ranked the British-Dutch multinational consumer goods company number 1 on its Fit for Purpose Index 2015 which assesses and ranks companies based on how they live up to the altruistic promises set out in their brand purpose. The success of Unilever’s Bright Future project was the main driver behind its number 1 ranking. MailChimp has launched a Holiday Marketing Tips campaign, in partnership with Facebook, Twitter, Google, Shopify, and WooCommerce. This comprehensive collection of resources is designed to help online merchants and small businesses improve their marketing and increase sales during the holiday season. HEINEKEN completes acquisition of Lasko brewer

Heineken has announced the completion of the transaction to acquire the majority stake of Pivovarna Laško d.d. for a price per share of EUR25.56 as agreed in the Sale and Purchase Agreement of 13 April 2015.  A total number of 4,673,941 shares were acquired from a consortium of shareholders representing 53.43 percent of the issued share capital, for a total consideration of EUR119.5m.   The closing of the transaction follows fulfilment of all conditions precedent as agreed upon in the Agreement including receipt of the necessary merger control approvals. HEINEKEN will formally announce its intention to make a mandatory takeover offer to all remaining shareholders within the coming 3 business days.

MTN, iRokotv target N2tn from online streaming

Video on Demand platform, iROKOtv says it has a target to make about N2tn ($1bn) from online streaming in Nigeria by 2020. The Chief Executive Officer of iROKOtv, Mr. Jason Njoku, said this on Monday, days after Ericsson’s ConsumerLab published its first-ever television and media report for Nigeria, which indicated that Nigerians spent about N54bn on VoD streaming between January and September 2015. Perhaps because of the enormous opportunities in the market and the N2tn prospect in the VoD sector, telecommunications company, MTN long ago acquired AfriNolly and DoBox.
